  • Student Housing Foggia

The regeneration project of the former Military District in Foggia, intended for use as a university residence, is structured around a growing level of privacy: collective functions are located at city level, while spaces reserved exclusively for students occupy the first floor.
A new public space provides access to the building along the main facade of the nineteenth-century structure. The new brushed steel colonnade winds along this front and connects with the new volume, which links directly to the garden. The relationship between old and new is resolved through a strategy of material and formal contrast, opposing slender metallic profiles against the massive opacity of the historic building.
